Port Angeles Christmas Bird Count (PACBC)
Saturday, December 28, 2024
The Port Angeles Christmas Bird Count (PACBC) covers a 15-mile diameter count circle, so we need lots of people familiar with birds to cover as much of the areas as possible. Even if you can only count your feeder or stroll around your neighborhood for an hour or two (assuming you live within the15-mile diameter count circle and know the birds you see), you can help with the count. We also have field parties assigned to specific areas of each count circle. If you are an experienced counter, you may be able to help with areas not covered by others.
The PACBC center is in the Olympic foothills south of Port Angeles, so it includes Port Angeles Harbor, several miles of the Elwha River on the west, Morse Creek on the east, and all the way up to Hurricane Ridge.
