"Lights Out” is a slide presentation about light pollution and its effects on ecosystems. The program will be centered on light pollution, which is the excessive or poor use of artificial light at night that disrupts the natural patterns of wildlife, contributes to CO₂ in the atmosphere, and obscures the stars in the night sky that birds use for navigation during migration.
The program will concentrate on the effects of light pollution, especially as it relates to birds during migration, how it disrupts the natural order of living things and offer suggestions on what participants can do to help minimize light pollution and end with questions and answers.
The program will last about 1 hour in length.
