Why do birds migrate? How do they find their way over thousands of miles, returning every year to nest at the exact same spot on earth?

Bob Boekelheide

Continuing our current series on Saturday, March 1, Bob Boekeheide will lead the audience through this ever-popular topic of bird migration—that natural rhythm of avian life we can all observe and study. Bob will focus on the migratory bird species seen in Clallam County—discussing why they migrate, how they navigate, and the routes they travel. He will emphasize why migration stopovers in Clallam County, such as Dungeness Bay and riparian forests, are so important for certain species. Moreover, Bob will demonstrate a number of online resources to promote self-guided, ongoing study for those interested.

Please arrive early for this always well-attended program on the natural world we share with birds.

Admission to the series is free. However, we suggest a donation of $5.00 per person to support our ongoing education and bird conservation programs. Please note that current health precautions as recommended by Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and Clallam County Public Health will be followed for the protection of our attendees and volunteer staff.
