Our chapter welcomed Joanna Wu, an ornithologist and ecologist from Los Angeles, who shared her fascinating research on female birds with us at our September 18th meeting as the featured program speaker.

Joanna’s work focuses on conservation gaps and how anthropogenic changes affect bird sexes differently. She is a passionate advocate for underrepresented voices and a member of the Galbatross Project, a group dedicated to raising awareness about often overlooked female birds.
