Greater White-fronted Geese pair by Bob Boekelheide
There continues to be about 70 Greater White-fronted Geese hanging out in Dungeness at the field at Cays and Anderson Roads, making it one of the largest concentrations of White-fronted Geese this winter anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.
Greater White-fronted Geese found on the West Coast nest in Alaska and mostly spend the winter in California’s Central Valley. Thanks to this flock, Greater White-fronted Geese set a 46-year record on the Sequim-Dungeness Christmas Bird Count, held Dec 20, 2021. Like most geese, White-fronted Geese form life-long pair bonds and often migrate in family groups. Photographed 1/21/2022 by Bob Boekelheide
