Features: This outing focuses on our local Purple Martin colony out on the 3 new for 2019 steel pilings replacing the old wooden Dungeness Pier. This spring we installed 22 new tube type nest boxes to accommodate the Martins. By August, some Martin young have fledged and it’s a sweet opportunity to watch adults and fledglings interact before they stage-up and head to South America in their winter migration.

Bring: Binoculars, scopes, wear calf level boots (as we will be walking out on to the wet, soft, sand tideflats for a close look at the Martin nest colony) and personal items as desired.
