Birding by Ear

Date and Time: Saturday May 18, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Leader: Judy Mullaly

Meeting Place: Meet and park at the lots for the Siebert Creek Conservation Trail – accessed by turning north off Hwy 101 on Siebert Creek rd. Drive to end – less than a mile.

We will walk from there to Old Olympic, cross, and walk to an area off the Discovery trail. Terrain is slightly hilly, path a bit rough but not too bad. Total walking distance less than 3 miles – maybe a lot less depending on group capabilities, interest and bird activity. Not appropriate for scopes for most folks, though they’re welcome if someone chooses to carry one.

Features: A forest walk concentrating on bird songs and calls. Forest trails may be inclined, muddy, rocky and uneven, and this trip may not be appropriate for those with limited mobility. Bring binoculars, water, snacks and appropriate clothing for the weather.
