Our fifth in the series will be Bird Nesting and the Great Backyard Bird Count, presented by Ken Wiersema. With spring just over the horizon, we offer this always popular class on bird nesting. Attendees will learn where and how local bird species select and build nests and how nesting plays an integral part in pair bonding. We’ll show sample nests. This program also provides a “how to” walk through for birdwatchers of every age and skill level who wish to participate in the upcoming Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) on February 15-18, 2019.

“Backyard Birding” can be taken either as individual classes or as a series. The cost of each session is $5 and is free for anyone under 18. After the completion of five sessions, participants will be offered free membership in OPAS for one year.
